Christmas Eve and 70

It was 70 degrees today. We had a chill morning hanging at the house. Visited my husband’s grandma (nonni) mid morning and then in the afternoon all hell brook loose.

We went to my families annual Xmas Eve party. It’s always stressful and tonight was no different. And when I say family, I’m talking 13 cousins, their partners and kids, aunts, and uncles. There is close to 40 of us. Dinner was meant to be at 6. We didn’t eat until 7:30. We skipped out on presents and dessert and left close to 9. By that time my husband and I weren’t even talking to each other anymore. It’s too crowded and too stressful. Everyone is yelling, complaining, or tossing guilt trips.

The dynamic of that event needs to change next year or we aren’t going anymore.
